First Event @ Sept. 9, 2013, 8:57 p.m. by Dem
Greetings, everyone! We know you're all anxious to get back to Anime Club events, so here's some info about what'll be happening.
On the other hand, if you just joined the club, then here's info on our first event!
The welcome event will be taking place on Friday, September 20th in the SSMU Breakout (Madeleine Parent) room from 6PM to 9PM. We'll be doing introductions until you're sick of them, playing games to get to know each other, and then showing one episode of an anime. Fun times will be had by all, so come on out!
For new members, you can now sign up for newsletter via this link:
But if you still want to send me an email to introduce yourself, you're welcome to do so!
New Server, New Cert, New Avatar Policy @ Aug. 2, 2013, 10:03 p.m. by draringi
(copied from my post on FB)
Site is up on the new server, should be running quicker. I've got a little more configuration to do, and some optimizations to perform, but that shouldn't take too long, and shouldn't be noticeable, except, maybe, for the shorter load times that will come with the optimization parts.
In other news, I obtained a SSL cert with another CA, one more widely accepted than CAcert. So, we now have a secure site that shouldn't throw errors on any browser. It is accessible at https://www.animcgill.org/
I recommend using the secure site over the insecure site when logging in, as anyone can listen in and obtain your username and password. For this reason, and a few others, plan to move the site over to https only sometime in the future. As such, another reason for using the https site arises, testing. It is easier for me to fix an issue with it before setting up the security systems requiring https access.
Finally, (sorry for the long web post), I have decided on the policy of site-hosted avatars only, so as to ensure that when we make the switch to https, all connections are secure. (and maybe also to avoid coding an annoying hybrid system)
Avatar editing will be available soon, so I hope to see you all around on the site.

Maid Cafe page is up @ March 30, 2013, 5:18 p.m. by draringi
Just a quick alert to tell everyone that the maid cafe page is available at animcgill.org/maidcafe.
I am still ironing out some of the kinks in it, but I wanted to get it out as soon as possible.
Hope to see everyone at the event.

Hey guys, it's the only person who ever blogs lol… In any case, some of you might know that I went to Japan two years ago. Annnnnd for whatever reason, I decide that now it's the best time to blog about it lol… It's missing the last three days for now, until I get images from my removeable onto my computer. But in any case you can find the blog in the blog section with lots of pictures of some of my most remembered moments xD.

What: Black Day RamenWhen: Saturday, April 14th (meeting at Roddick Gates at noon)Where: Hakata Ramen (1216 Stanley, suite 200)As our member Anna Shi has reminded us, this Saturday isBlack Day, a Korean holiday where single people who didnot get chocolate (or omurice!) on Valentine's Day or White Day get together and eat jajangmyeon, a Korean noodle dish. Since such a meal probably isn't a common menu item, we're going to get ramen instead! =D Non-Koreans and non-singles are welcome as well, of course, but if you do bring a significant other, please be prepared to be glared at. >_> (Kidding, sort of.) If you'd like to join us in our revelry, please RSVP at the link below byWednesday, April 11th, at midnight.Link to RSVP and Facebook event arein the newsletter.Yes, there is a Facebook RSVP, and yes, it does count.THIS TIME. So please, for my sanity and your pride, please click one of the above links. Thank you! ^_^'
